FORMING A BRIGHTER FUTURE
Our Social Value.
Our work goes beyond construction. We strive to support our communities in which we live and work and ensure the work within our industry has a positive impact on all.
Sustainability
Our approach to sustainability incorporates the social, economic and environmental aspects of the industry.
We closely monitor its impact on its members, its support teams and local communities. We want to ensure that our activities support the longevity of its member companies, ensure the workforce is equipped with all the support they need and ensure communities are not impacted negatively by everyones’ operations.
In addition, further growth of investments is considered vital to provide financial sustainability and resilience together with increased social and environmental benefits for all of our members.
Environmental
The Environmental agenda is at the heart of what we do. We seek opportunities to raise awareness of the environment amongst our members, and across the industry as a whole. We aspire to ensure that new developments across the region have minimal impact on the environment.
We encourage providing a green infrastructure; preventing pollution; effective waste disposal; encouraging green space and wildlife; sustainable procurement; maintaining landscape character; and overall safeguarding the planet.
Employability Skills and Training
Equipping our workforce with the necessary skills they need for the benefit of not only themselves but also the companies in which they work, is something you will hear us shout about frequently.
Our approach is through demonstrating opportunities for upskilling; getting involved and supporting the work of schools, colleges, universities and organisations that encourage young people development and careers guidance; identifying job possibilities; and securing opportunities for the construction industry and educational sectors to engage with.
Communities
Construction affects local communities, and we aim for this to always be in a positive way.
Communities are at the heart of what we do. They provide the workforce. They are our future. We want communities to be proud of the work that not only ourselves, but our members do. We strive to ensure our communities are proud of the areas in which they live. We encourage our members to engage with their local communities and understand their needs, which hopefully results in repeat work within the communities.
